We’re excited to announce that Factory Direct Flooring Ltd. has invested in a new warehouse as we prepare for another record sales year in 2021.

Home renovations became the UK’s third favourite pastime during the Coronavirus lockdown. With many of us choosing to refresh our floors DIY-style whilst tradesmen were scarce in the first lockdown.

Factory Direct Flooring saw a record of +35% more transactions in 2020 compared with 2019, and 2021 is already set to be the best year - with over 30% more transactions to date, in comparison. We identified an increase in consumer demand for easy and fast to install products as the pandemic took hold, and we now stock a high volume of DIY ranges.

With luxury vinyl tile (LVT) products soaring in popularity, we now stock a wide range of these products, including our very own Aqua Plank range - the UK’s first engineered LVT flooring, which flew off our shelves in 2020.

You can see our range of LVT products here:

Due to the high demand of our products, we’ve moved to a new 20,000 ft2 warehouse located at Hemdale Industrial Park, Nuneaton which is almost 40% bigger than our previous premises in Hinckley.

Nuneaton Warehouse

At the new warehouse in Nuneaton, we’ll be storing an additional 50% more stock which will result in more efficient delivery and transportation between units, and will benefit our customers with faster delivery as a result of the efficiencies. Our new state-of-the-art racking makes our stock more accessible so we’ll be able to take more orders and dispatch orders sooner.

Our Warehouse move has created various new jobs in the local area, and we’ve already increased our team by 25% to date. We encourage any local, like-minded people to contact us to discuss job opportunities in the Nuneaton area.

Having more space in the new warehouse gives our product team better buying power, which will result in the best prices for our customers. We’re also very excited to announce that customers will soon have the opportunity to save on delivery fees, as from May, we will be launching a click & collect facility at the warehouse in Nuneaton. Our large car park will provide easy access for our customers when loading vehicles.

Paul Hambidge, Managing Director says:

“We are committed to listening to what our customers want and need, and to evolve the firm in line with consumer and market innovations. While 2020 was of course a key driver for sales as many people directed their income from things like holidays to home improvements, we were already ahead of the curve. We had identified the significant growth in LVT, and particularly DIY products, over alternatives such as laminate or engineered wood options, and catering accordingly.

“The efficiencies we’ve created will ensure that customers can access the flooring product they need, when they need it, and in the quantity they require – all while benefiting from lower prices. This warehouse purchase is an exciting development which is enabling us to really ramp-up our capabilities and take the business to the next level. Not only has our square footage increased significantly, but our racking height has doubled, so the increase in capacity is immense and we are  also significantly reducing our environmental impact with these efficiencies.”

We’ve fast become a market leader in flooring supplies since we started in 2008, thanks to our model of working closely with manufacturers to remove the ‘middleman’ and bring products direct to our customers at competitive prices – all underpinned by our exceptional service teams.
