Factory Direct Flooring Ltd has gifted ca. £600 of Aqua Plank Herringbone LVT in Traditional Oak to online business owner, Kirsty. Our flooring has helped transform her new garden office into a practical, trendy space to keep her small business flourishing.
Back in 2020, Kirsty successfully launched The Little Hygge Co. a Scandinavian style home decor company, after an unexpected redundancy from a role of 13 years. Taking the opportunity to start her own business during a worldwide pandemic was brave and we loved her story! Reaching out to us on instagram, Kirsty explained how she is “extremely budget conscious” as a newly formed business owner and was looking to floor her home-build garden office as TLHC’s main headquarters - with both quality and budget in mind.
“A year in, my house is filled with stock, so I decided to build a garden office - which myself and my partner have done from scratch, all by ourselves. I have been extremely budget conscious since becoming a newly formed business!”
To suit her Hygge decor and to provide a practical solution for a busy little office / stock room, Kirsty ideally wanted a floor that was durable, 10mm thick in natural oak; practical but still keeping that Scandinavian look and feel. Interested originally in a natural, engineered wood flooring, we discussed with Kirsty how an LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tile) would be more suitable in garden office conditions.
British garden offices typically receive plenty of sunlight and some unwanted moisture (we can blame the British weather for that). We already knew that Kirsty has an ‘pawsistant’ (Harley; her gorgeous rescue dog) and also planned to use the area to store stock, pack and carry out order fulfillment. The flooring needed to be practical as well as something on trend, something that could withstand a high traffic area, and still look perfect in product shots for social media!
We recommended going with the Aqua Plank range which was developed & launched by FDF’s owner, Paul Hambidge. Aqua Plank is both aesthetically pleasing and practical; a cost effective solution. “We are now at the stage of looking at flooring as we just have the plasterboard, painting left to do inside which will be complete within the next week or so. We are both very hands-on people as you can see from the build! We love to DIY and get stuck in!”
