Description

Malton 18mm x 120mm Double Smoked Brushed Matt Lacquer Solid Oak Flooring

The Malton 18mm x 120mm Double Smoked Brushed Matt Lacquer Solid Oak Flooring is a premium solid wood floor crafted from 100% hardwood, designed to deliver lasting performance with a distinctive smoked finish and rustic character. The double smoked effect deepens the natural oak tones, while the brushed texture highlights the grain and knots, creating a warm, tactile surface ideal for both traditional and contemporary interiors.
Finished with a durable matt lacquer, the Malton floor combines aesthetic appeal with practical protection, resisting scuffs, marks and everyday wear while retaining the natural look of real timber.

Why choose Malton solid oak flooring?
- Authentic solid oak construction
Made from 100% hardwood, this flooring can be sanded and refinished multiple times, offering longevity that engineered or laminate alternatives can’t match.

- Classic 120mm plank width
The 120mm width strikes the perfect balance between a modern wide-plank look and practical installation, showcasing the wood’s natural grain and rustic character.

- Brushed and double smoked finish
Brushing enhances the timber’s texture while the double smoked treatment adds rich, deep tones.

- Heavy-use durability
With 18mm thickness and a solid construction, this floor is built to withstand everyday domestic traffic while maintaining its premium appearance.

- Rustic grade character
Knots, splits and tonal variations are embraced, giving each plank a unique identity and a warm, lived-in feel.

Product suitability
The Malton solid oak floor is designed for full stick (glue-down) installation, ensuring a secure and long-lasting fit. It is best suited to dry, temperature-stable areas and is not suitable for underfloor heating or moisture-prone rooms like bathrooms.
Care and maintenance
The brushed matt lacquer finish makes daily care easy. Sweep or vacuum regularly (hard floor setting) to remove grit and dust that could scratch the surface. Occasional damp mopping with a wood-safe cleaner will keep the floor looking its best. Avoid excessive moisture and clean spills promptly to protect the wood.

FAQs
What does “double smoked” mean?
Double smoked oak is treated twice with a smoking process that darkens the timber, creating rich, deep brown tones while highlighting the natural grain. It gives the floor a distinctive, warm appearance that evolves beautifully with light and age.

How is brushed oak different from standard oak?
Brushed oak has been mechanically textured along the grain, removing softer wood fibers and creating a tactile surface. This enhances the natural grain, adds depth, and improves slip resistance.

Is the Malton floor suitable for open-plan living spaces?
Yes. The 120mm plank width provides a continuous, elegant appearance, ideal for open-plan layouts. The rustic character of the oak adds warmth and visual interest throughout large areas.
