Ordered two packs to complete a 35 pack job. Received two resealed packs and I opened then to find some pretty awful boards inside. Every board was covered in knots and brown filler. I know its a natural product but this was clearly somebody's returns (all their poor boards returned for a refund) being resealed and sent out. I eventually managed to get the boxes replaced with unopened boxes which were fine - although I did have to return the bad packs and collect the replacements personally. Beware the resealed packs!!!
Beautiful flooring, looks much more expensive than it is. The only negative is that the sample we were sent was lighter in colour than the overall effect that the floor gives, so maybe try and pick a shade that comes somewhere in the middle of the natural shading of the wood
I'l start by saying I'm a harsh critic of poor service, poor quality goods and poor websites. I'm also an experienced DIY'er. We had chosen flooring from two other companies, and then read their on line reviews on Trust Pilot and other review sites, and then completely changed our minds. We found Factory Direct flooring on line, and they seemed to have very good reviews. I telephoned three times and spoke to their sales staff and sales manager re some technical questions, and received a very professional response. We went ahead with the order of 70 sq metres of the Abbey Calder flooring, all of the underlay and a fitting kit. A delivery time was arranged within 24hrs, it arrived on time, in perfect condition, and the delivery driver helped me get the pallets close to the house. We let the boxes rest for a week before commencing work, and when opened, every single plank was in perfect condition. The fitting was very straight forward and by careful planning, the wastage was minimal; less than 1.5 sq metres. The flooring is now complete and looks fantastic. The 21mm thickness with a 6mm oak top will last for 50 years plus. Great product at a great price with a genuinely great on line supplier. I would highly recommend them. ( No I'm not an employee!!)
The flooring arrived the next day and was exactly as described. The quality is superb and once laid totally changed the appearance of the room. I ordered samples from a number of different online floor specialists and in comparison this was very good value for money and although not my first choice from the samples, I am really glad I purchased this now.

Hi is it ok to add hardwax oil on top of the Abbey Calder Brushed and Oiled engineering plank?
No, this product has a UV oil finish, we would suggest applying this type of product only
