The machine is programmed to add texture to each individual floorboard and thus can only create one pattern on the wood itself. As such, every wood flooring board is exactly the same. There is nothing unique about every individual one and so they will attract the light in the same way and present the same texture. Believe it or not, that is not what distressed solid wood flooring is about.

Hand distressed flooring, on the other hand, creates a unique pattern on each and every board. Before machinery was invented to make solid wood flooring flat, all flooring was hand distressed and so this method of presentation goes right back to its roots. Hand distressed flooring creates a wonderful texture underfoot and a unique and more beautiful look. Your wood flooring will be unlike anyone else’s as a result so, although it is a little more expensive, that extra cost is worth it.
