Hand Distressed Finish Wood Flooring
Adding wood flooring to your home can really give it a look and feel that is undoubtedly beautiful. It can capture the light, make a room appear much more spacious and can lend a traditional or classic feel to your home. However, it can also make a statement if you choose to have textured or hand distressed finish wood flooring instead of the smooth solid wood flooring that we are all used to.
Although smooth solid wood flooring is highly desirable, you may want to put a unique and distinctive finish on your wood flooring instead. Distressing the wood can do just that. It does give the surface of the wood flooring an uneven finish, but this enables the flooring to capture the light and really shine under the lights.
You can purchase distressed wood flooring from many solid wood flooring stores in the UK, but the majority of it will have been made using a machine. The machine is programmed to add texture to each individual floorboard and thus can only create one pattern on the wood itself. As such, every wood flooring board is exactly the same. There is nothing unique about every individual one and so they will attract the light in the same way and present the same texture. Believe it or not, that is not what distressed solid wood flooring is about.
Hand distressed flooring, on the other hand, creates a unique pattern on each and every board. Before machinery was invented to make solid wood flooring flat, all flooring was hand distressed and so this method of presentation goes right back to its roots. Hand distressed flooring creates a wonderful texture underfoot and a unique and more beautiful look. Your wood flooring will be unlike anyone else’s as a result so, although it is a little more expensive, that extra cost is worth it. All of our craftsmen are highly skilled so you will undoubtedly get what you pay for.
