Full Terms And Conditions

If you have chosen to or are considering purchasing wood flooring from Factory Direct Flooring then you have also chosen to abide by the full terms and conditions of the site by default. Please read the full terms and conditions laid out below carefully:

Dispatch Policy

Factory Direct Flooring make every effort to ensure that all of our wood flooring products re kept in stock at all times. However, that is not always possible and so we offer no guarantee of availability. As such, our electronic catalogue does not constitute an offer of sale. We will do our best to fulfil your order though and will inform you if an item is not in stock and how long it will take to obtain it.

Goods that are ordered are routinely delivered between the hours of 8am and 5.30pm Monday to Friday with a lead time of 3 days after placing the wood flooring order. You do have the option to select a preferred delivery date at checkout, following which we will contact you to confirm the date or to arrange an alternate date that is suitable to both parties. We do offer next day delivery in some areas providing that payment has been completed by 10am the previous day. This service does not apply to bank holidays or weekends.

Delivery is currently free to all orders that are over £350 + VAT providing that the delivery address is located within the UK mainland. Orders for wood flooring below that level are currently £30 + VAT for delivery. However, a delivery surcharge will apply to some areas (Northern Scotland, Northern and Southern Ireland, Isle of Man, Isle of Wight and the Channel Islands). We do offer delivery to Europe but it will be necessary to speak to our customer service team to arrange this.

All wood flooring deliveries are made to kerbside via the nearest access point. The vehicle will be a van or a lorry and so it is essential that you consider the accessibility of your property in advance and tell us about any possible obstructions beforehand. This enables us to make correct arrangements to prevent any unnecessary returns and charges. The driver may also need a little help unloading the van upon arrival. All deliveries will be made between 8am and 6pm but we are unable to put an exact time on delivery as they are all down to the courier’s discretion. However, you are able to request an am or pm delivery at an extra charge of £35. In some circumstances we can also offer a Saturday delivery for a charge of £50.

Please note that there is a £60 charge levied against you should the courier attempt to deliver your wood flooring on the designated date and be unable to do so because you are not there. This charge covers the redelivery to your address. Similarly, you may be charged for redelivery if you are not available to provide a signature upon delivery as no orders will be left outside, in porches, garages, shed or any other location without a signature.

Every effort is made to ensure that your wood flooring is in perfect condition when it arrives with you. However, in a very small percentage of cases some wood flooring may be damaged. As such, you should inspect your goods immediately upon delivery because no claims can be made after the delivery driver has left your property. It must be noted as damaged on the delivery paperwork. Please contact us as soon as possible after noting the damage rather than refusing delivery. A refused delivery will incur a delivery charge of £60. If the correct procedures are followed then we will refund or replace the damaged goods providing a claim is made within 7 days.

We do not accept liability for costs that result from late wood flooring deliveries or any other reason. As such, we advise that you do not arrange for installations until after you have received the wood flooring.

When Your Order Arrives

When your order arrives, you must check it thoroughly tonsure that every item on your wood flooring order has been delivered. The quantities should absolutely match your order. It is recommended that you count every single item on the delivered pallet to ensure that everything is there against the email confirmation of your order. Please note any missing items on the delivery documentation and then contact us immediately.

You should also visually inspect the wood flooring and other items to ensure that they are in perfect condition, again noting any problems on the order and delivery documentation before contacting us.

Unless you specifically request otherwise at an additional cost, the delivery will be to kerbside. You must be available to take your order in because the delivery driver is not permitted to enter your home. It is recommended that all wood flooring is then placed in the room in which it is to be installed.

DO NOT let the driver leave until you have thoroughly checked and verified the wood flooring you have ordered is there and in good condition. It should be fully accounted for with delivery document notes having been made if anything is missing or damaged. If it is not noted then we are unable to do anything in terms of replacing or refunding products.

Damaged Faulty Goods

Damaged goods only occur in 1.1% of cases because we select all of our couriers through a stringent quality control process. Similarly, we also check all of our wood flooring before it leaves our distribution centre. However, if any of the wood flooring you ordered is damaged on delivery then please ensure that it is noted on the delivery documentation and report it to us immediately. We will then make arrangements for refund or replacement. Please call us on 0800 015 44 15.

Cancellations And Returns

The following information is applicable to Internet sales only. If you buy our solid wood flooring via any other method then please call our head office for further information if you have any questions related to returns or cancellations.

As a consumer, you have extensive rights when it comes to returns and cancellations. For example, you have the right to cancel your order for up to 7 days after the goods come into your possession as a result of the Distance Selling Regulations 2000. This is to ensure that you are totally happy with your purchase, which is why it only applies after you have taken delivery of the order. However, if you do decide to cancel or return the goods in part or wholly then you must abide by the Distance Selling Regulation guidelines (a copy of which can be found at www.oft.gov.uk/shared_oft/business_leaflets/general/oft698.pdf).

You also have the right to cancel your purchase before your order has been dispatched to you. If cancellation is confirmed prior to the order being dispatched, the full invoice amount will be refunded to you within 5 working days.

If you cancel and would like to return your order after delivery, we will arrange to collect the order in full from your specified delivery address. Upon receipt of the order, we will then refund the total amount to you minus the collection fee charged to us by the carrier. The level of this amount depends on your location, although the standard cost is £60 within the UK mainland. However, a surcharge may also apply if the original order had one.

Upon collection, all goods must be sent as they are received, complete with packaging and in their original condition. Following their delivery to us, we will refund the total due to you onto the payment card that you originally used. This will be made within 28 days of cancellation.

Booking Trades People

As a result of the many vaiables that are associated with the delivery of wood flooring, we advise you not to book a professional to install your wood flooring until after you are in possession of it. Manufacture times, weather, replacement and supply and demand are all major factors that could prevent your flooring arriving on time and thus cost you money to pay for the installer on two days instead of one. We have no liability for these costs. All of our delivery dates are approximate and cannot be blamed for costs incurred.

Prices And Tax

All prices displayed exclude VAT. This will be added upon checkout but before you confirm the purchase of wood flooring.

Product Guarantee

If you fail to use a Damp Proof Membrane or the correct underlay between subflooring and wood flooring then your guarantee will be affected and we cannot be help responsible for any damage.

Colours

The colour of wood flooring may vary slightly from that displayed on the website as a result of the limitations of browsers and monitors.

Confidentiality

All confidential personal details, from credit card information to your name and address are held securely and only transmitted in encrypted form. We will never pass your details on to a third party and fully adhere to the Data Protection Act.

Indeminity

You agree to indemnify is against any claims, losses, damages, liabilities and expenses that may arise from your use of this website. That includes any legal fees that you may incur.

Jurisdiction

This contract of terms and conditions is goverened by the laws of England and Wales with all parties agreeing to submit to the jurisdiction of the English courts.

Consumer Rights

Your Statuatory Consumer Rights are not affected by any of the above terms and conditions.
