Flooring Style

Many individuals assume that all wood flooring looks exactly the same with the exception of the colour of individual products. Those individuals have probably never had wood flooring before or have never picked it out for their home. There are actually several different factors to consider when buying it and the style happens to be one of them. The style actually sets on type of flooring apart from the next, and the choice you have to make is largely depending on the look you want to achieve in your home.

There are three distinct wood flooring styles that you have to choose from and they are outlined below to give you a good idea of which one you think may look best in your home:

Strip

• Strip wood flooring is literally three different strips of wood per board. The strips run alongside each other to create a beautiful pattern that gives the wood flooring more depth. Generally the strips are individually approximately 550mm in length and randomise the appearance of the floor. The quality is just as high as 2 or 1 Strip wood flooring but it is slightly cheaper because it is easier to find smaller pieces of wood than larger ones.

Strip/Double Plank

• Strip boards feature two individual strips of wood flooring per board. Again, each strip is approximately 550mm in length and is cheaper as a result of the smaller boards being widely available. However, it looks a little more classy and elegant than the 3 Strip. It is also of just as high a quality as the other wood flooring options you have so you do not have to compromise.

Strip/Plank

• Strip wood flooring is literally a full plank of wood and is considered to be the most elegant and beautiful option people have. The timber is often rich and is of a high quality. Individual boards are between 90mm and 205mm in width, depending on the product that you have chose, but the general rule is the wider the floorboard the more expensive the wood flooring.
