Environmental Policy
Factory Direct Flooring is proud to be an environmentally conscious company. We have an active environmental policy in place and train all of our staff to ensure that they carry it out on a daily basis. As such, we have a set procedure in place to deal with any and all wood flooring waste materials. If it can be recycled then it will be recycled.
Any commercial business can and does have an impact on the environment in this day and age. We recognise this fact and work proactively to reduce our wood flooring waste and carbon footprint. This also leads to an overall reduction in our costs, which we then pass on to you as a customer.
Our wood flooring environmental policy is as follows:
- We recycle all packaging wherever possible.
- We reuse all wooden pallets within our distribution centre.
- We ensure that all non-recyclable waste materials are disposed of safely and effectively.
- All in-building heating systems are regularly maintained and are energy efficient.
- All lights are switched off when the last person leaves any of the rooms in our office and distribution centre.
- All delivery routes are planned in advance to ensure that the most direct route is always taken and the efficiency of every vehicle is maximised.
In addition to the above, we are acutely aware that deforestation is causing a major environmental problem in many parts of the world. As such, we are committed to using sustainable wood flooring. We are constantly checking and updating our product portfolio to ensure that all items we offer are marked with the FSC or PEFC standard. This will give you peace of mind that your wood flooring is helping to contribute to a better world for all of us.
