Classic – Select – Prime Grade
Classic grades, or select or prime grades, are the highest possible in terms of wood flooring that you can get. The grain is extremely straight in this type of wood flooring and it actually features very few knots and markings that do characterise other grades of wood. There may be slight colouration differences between the boards but it does appear to be more uniformed. However, classic grades of wood flooring are more expensive because they are not as easy to get hold of as other grades.
Natural – Selected – Harmony Grades
The natural grade of hardwood is the middle grade, thus it is also known as the selected or harmony grade because it is the grade usually chosen by those looking for a nice balance. It ha more character than prime grade but less than rustic grades. As such, it features some knots and colour variants as well as a grain pattern. This is extremely popular.
Rustic – Variation- Character Grades
Rustic grade wood flooring, or character or variation grades, is extremely beautiful wood flooring with vibrant colours and beautiful character. You can obtain it in a variety of colours with frequent knots here and there. It is the cheapest of the three because it features heavy graining. However, it is of a high quality and will not compromise the stability of your flooring at all.
